International Research Conference Held at University of IBEC

An International Research Conference on Buddhist Studies was held on January 17, 2026, at the University of IBEC (IBEC Buddhist University), located in the Sagaing Hills.
The conference brought together Buddhist scholars, researchers, monks, and academics from both Myanmar and abroad to share their research findings, studies, and insights related to various aspects of Buddhism.
A keynote address on the theme “Engaged Buddhism: Challenges and Opportunities for Contemporary Society” was delivered, highlighting the relevance of Buddhist teachings in addressing modern social issues and the practical application of Dharma in daily life.
