Sagaing, January 18th.
The Third Master’s Degree Graduation Ceremony of the University of IBEC (IBEC Buddhist University), located in the pleasant and serene environs of the Sagaing Hills, was held grandly and vibrantly at the university’s graduation hall at 8:30 AM on Sunday, the 18th of January 2026.

During the ceremony, the Most Venerable Rector, Sitagu Sayadaw, delivered an inspiring keynote address, offering guidance and encouragement to the graduating students and the gathered audience to work diligently in the service of the Sasana (Buddha’s teachings). Following this, the founder of IBEC and Kyaunk Hma Buddhist University, Professor Dr. Ashin Sobhita, also delivered a congratulatory speech regarding the degree presentation.
At this ceremony, the Rector himself formally conferred the respective degrees and certificates. The awards presented included: Master of Arts in Buddhist Studies (MA) to 17 candidates, Bachelor of Arts in Buddhist Studies (BA) to 16 candidates, the Sasananuggaha Dhammacariya degree to 1 candidate, the Sanasana Dhamma Dhammacariya degree to 4 candidates, and English Course Certificates to a total of 22 individuals.

Subsequently, a missionary pledge ceremony was conducted. All graduating students made a solemn commitment before the Rector to uphold the following vows:
The IBEC family extends its best wishes that all the monks, nuns, and laypersons who received their degrees today will become venerable scholars, worthy of reliance for the benefit of the Sasana and the nation in the future.
